Information and aftercare

What you should consider before and after your tattoo.

Come rested
The tattooing process will be easier for your body to handle if you are well rested and have eaten and drunk properly. Feel free to bring a piece of chocolate and a soda to quickly increase your blood sugar.

Wear clean but unblemished clothes.
Tattoo ink is very difficult to remove. Also, remember that clothing should not be tight over the newly made tattoo and that it should be easy for the tattoo artist to access. Always wear clean clothing over a newly made tattoo to avoid infections.

Please note the age limit
18 years applies. Be prepared to prove your age with identification. No exceptions, not even in the company of a guardian, are accepted.

Drunk people are not tattooed!
When drinking alcohol, the blood is thinned, which leads to more bleeding during tattooing. This leads to the color bleeding out and results in a worse tattoo. Add to this restless behavior and poor judgment. The denial of course also applies to people under the influence of drugs other than alcohol.

Inform about your health
It is the client's responsibility to provide information about their health. Are you healthy and well? Do you currently have any infections? Do you suffer from allergies, epilepsy, hemophilia, diabetes or any other condition? Always provide information about this!

Take care of your tattoo
To ensure your tattoo looks its best, you need to take care of it. Also read “After the tattoo” further down the page.

Question!
If there is anything you are wondering about; choosing a motif, sterilization, tattoo care or anything else. Don't hesitate, just ask.

Take off the cover tomorrow, e.g. when showering. Gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild pH-neutral soap. Then let the tattoo air dry or gently pat it dry with paper towels.

When the tattoo is dry Apply a THIN layer of Bepanthen/Helosan. Make sure your hands are clean before applying and wash them again after applying.

After 2-3 days A crust will begin to form on the tattoo. This is normal. The crust will flake off on its own as you continue to apply the cream. Pill NOT of the scab itself, this can contribute to the loss of extra color, bacteria can enter the tattoo and cause infection, and healing can be impaired.

Lubricate the tattoo 3-4 times a day as needed. ALWAYS a thin layer so that the skin can still breathe and ALWAYS with clean hands. It is important that the tattoo is kept moist.

Don't use regular skin cream or perfumed liquids for lubrication or other contact with the healing tattoo. This can cause infections.

When the tattoo heals Do not wear tight-fitting clothing or clothing made of fabric that "sheds" that could get caught in the tattoo. Also, do not cover it with bandages, gauze, or similar.

A tattoo's healing time can vary between 2 – 4 weeks. During this time you should avoid swimming (showering is fine). Direct sunlight (beach, solarium) should be avoided for the first 4-6 weeks. After that, protect with strong sunscreen.

The first week You should avoid sports or strenuous physical activity, which can affect the healing of the tattoo. Also, avoid dirty surroundings. Animals should not come into contact with the tattoo.

During healing The tattoo may itch. You can pat it lightly to counteract this, but NOT scratch!!
